Peer Mentors (PAL's)
Peer Assistant Leaders (PALs) are trained upper class students who serve as a first year student’s coach, resource, and mentor as they adjust to academic expectations and college life at UNH Manchester. PALs assist in carrying out components of the First Year Experience program and assist professional academic support staff in educational related activities. They are a part of UMST401 First Year Seminar and plan events geared toward first year student academic and social interests.
Meet the PALs
You will get to know your PAL in First Year Seminar. You can also meet and connect with other members of the PAL team by logging into Blackboard and join in the conversation in the Orientation organization. They are your best peer resource of information and support throughout your first year.
Become a PAL
PALs are selected and appointed through the Office of the First Year Experience. They have a multitude of tasks, including assisting with Orientation, Stepping Stones, maintaining the Orientation Blackboard site for first year students, and primarily, mentoring 10-15 new students in First Year Seminar.
